Scott Lively is globally a key figure in Abiding Truth Ministries, classified as a hate group. Ugandans just sought to kill “anti-family” gay human beings in his name [Fairfax Underground]. Why model Australian public health on his thunderously immoral rhetoric? Let’s examine similarities between hate groups and those influencing exploitation of Australia’s most vulnerable.

Despite Kevin Rudd tacitly endorsing Focus On The Family Mark Copeland’s homophobic NARTH their ‘research’ into therapy for homosexuality, and his “gay gene” [they say there 'aint one] buddy Dean Hamer’s bluster, Australians know bigoted confomist agendas when they arise. It’s a darn pity we sold out to Userphobia in the yet-to-be-trialled-much-less-proven How To Drug Proof Your Kids.

Focus on the Family is regrettably an overtly homophobic, bigoted group of religious conservatives and biblical fundamentalists, who have marketed their brand of family values, aka The Truth Project, to “over two dozen countries“.

Incredibly this signal of regression in Australian democracy was handed the gold pass to use minority groups as a springboard into politics. Their vehicle is How To Drug Proof Your Kids [short video]. Given the chapter and verse semantics and sources quoted, DPYK appears modelled on Lively’s Seven Steps To Recruit Proof Your Kids From Homosexuality.

HTDPYK is endorsed – amongst userphobic and anti-individual conformist mouth pieces – by our seemingly conservative Fifth Columnist Cubby Houses, The Australian National Council on Drugs and The Alcohol and Drug Council of Australia. It is axiomatic that drug users are the last minority demographic simply up for abuse and moral judgement, lest funding vanish. However the ‘drug using community’ is in many ways like the Learners Permit community. Transient in the main with shifting needs and rights. Few have the dash to dig in and fight for human rights.

“Seven Steps…” is one of the many anti-gay and notably bigoted exports that Lively, who claims he “knows more than anyone in the world” about homosexuality [the cause of murder, genocide], virally spreads via the ethereal and smoke waft memetics of conservative Family Values.

At first blush most Aussies don’t see any link between our robust public health policies, Focus on the Family, Scott Lively and the “alien” barbarity that surfaced in Uganda in the form of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2009 – in full text below video, and bulleted within video. Yet it seems How To Drug Proof Your Kids, is the conformist, conversion focused and exclusion-guaranteed bigotry we expect from groups who ignore Church and State seperation to “proof” us from evil via their vengeful God’s desires:

Yep, that sounds like our multi-faith, tolerant, non-racist, multi-cultural and all-welcoming patriotism our kids stop bullets the size of white board markers to ensure. Our nation that stopped a plague of BBV, HIV/AIDS under Harm Minimisation would never allow public health input driven by the views of Holocaust revisionists who claim all evil, hence clearly ooh, say, The Nazi Party is due to “being gay” as advanced in The Pink Swastika? Or homophobic insults such as Seven steps..?

We reduce harm – not manufacturer it here in Australia in the 21st century. Of course Nicola Roxon, Federal Health Minister, speaks out against those who claim being gay is “a mental disorder”. Surely discriminatory semantics used by Focus on the Family is repulsive to forward thinking Aussies, noting most do not enjoy imagined “family values”. Surely…

Australia is a tolerant, non bigoted nation my PM and Deputy PM told global media dozens of times over the last year and that many times again last month as billions of more-precious-than-human-life dollars look set to remain in Indian students control. We’d never tolerate input from those who claim genocide as in, say, Rwanda was all down to homosexuality and that gays are “made by paedophiles” and spend most of their energy raping teenage males?

That is of course, unless you’re aware of how minority groups are exploited in illicit drug policy “initiatives” that do naught for most Aussies other than slam dunk the message, No Christian family? No hope. Speaking about illicit drugs, it seems we were ripped off. Three theopaths hit Uganda to test run their rhetoric designed to recriminalise homosexuality. Think of Drug Free Australia’s push to recriminalise regulated behaviour starting with fraudulent documentation on the efficacy of needle exchange. Heck, if “condoms cause AIDS”, as DFA claims, then clean needles must cause illicit drug use. As DFA’s “addiction expert” informed an Inquiry chaired by Abbott’s “ideological love mother”, Bronwyn Bishop, we suffer from “drugs, sex and rock-n-roll” and the outcome is plain – in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah:

Caleb Lee Brundidge has distanced the appallingly named homophobic International Healing Foundation and presumably his other baby, Extreme Prophetic Ministry from the Ugandan Bill. Don Schmierer from the Board of Exodus International is keeping a low profile.

Scott Lively however is on a mission and once enscounced within superstition his lies -which are plain in this video – more or less gained amplitude. Perhaps the best deconstruction I’ve noted of the Ugandan mess is within Public Eye and The New York Times. Public Eye note:

The unsuspecting audience heard Lively promote his book, The Pink Swastika, and his argument that not only are gays seeking to take over the world, but they also threaten society by causing higher rates of divorce, child abuse, and HIV/AIDS. Legalizing homosexuality is on par with accepting “molestation of children or having sex with animals,” he said.

What is happening is the branch of junk science huddling under the “godfearing” banner of Christian Science actually thinks it’s fiction has a place in Science. Note it’s just “science”. Let me guess. This spike in homophobia, all dressed up with nowhere to go, is due to global equal opportunity changes. The Australian Christian Lobby lead the push to provide “research” that domestic violence is highest within same sex couples solely to target Australian legislative trends. Next, as we move from illicit drug prohibition to Regulation and Human Rights, can we assume our conservative regressives will simply agree with evidence based health policy for the first time ever? Sadly, no. Noting we already witness several hundred drug related executions over a decade – and many times that in unwanted killings – in a futile paranoid war on human nature across the globe, I predict we’re presently on track to match – if not outdo – the insanity below.

It’s time Australia woke up to the tangled web of Family Values, Micky Mouse health initiatives, religious cronies, their political succubi and the abuse of fellow Aussies at the hands of USA fundamentalists. If we insist on spending so little on Harm Reduction, why waste any on lies, tricks and semantic pandering to ignorance and science illiteracy?

“Life changing for the confused and misled”? Sure sounds about right. Human Rights simply must stand above Religious Rites if that change is not to be life ending rather than life changing.
